Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

I've spent about $2,000 in the past twelve months with Great Garden Plants. Some have done well and some have had less positive outcomes.
The two best have been pachysandras and bugleweeds (followed closely by the fuzzy wuzzy plants.) I purchased the petite parakeet variety because I wanted the yellowish leaf colors. So far, they have stayed green but I am seeing a little bit of transition to yellow.
I got about 28 of them and they survive the dry hot July-September period extremely well.
I also have a big section of burgundy glow bugleweed in the back and side yards which I never planted. I am letting it grow and expand for now but I will need to set some edging once it gets beyond where I want it.
Get these and you will not be disappointed.
Beautiful plants i already planted them started to grow thank you
Order arrived second time with healthy plants! Thank you
My plants arrived beautifully healthy and are thriving in the garden. However, the plastic bag they come in is stapled and tied to the pot and it’s a nightmare to remove . If you don’t carry a scissor when you go out to plant your new additions you’ll be fuming, too.
We're sorry you're unsatisfied with our packaging. Shipping and handling can be hard on plants, so we package our plants for safety to ensure they are secure in transit to their new home. We will keep your feedback in mind for the future. The easiest method to remove the packaging is using scissors to cut around the perimeter of the pot to ensure less damage to the plant. Damage is more likely to happen when ripping off the packaging. This is our recommendation, but we encourage gardeners to do what they prefer. Happy gardening!
Plant is growing and thriving in partial shade. I plan to add more next it to reduce the amount of weeding I need to do. Rabbits & deer leave it alone.
