Cannot handle moisture

After 30 short summer days of Pan Handle rain, these plants are dead. Despite the description, these plants do not do well in moisture. Also, please note that Great Garden defaults all reviews to 5 stars, so the averages are skewed.

And "YES", my roof has rain gutters and I did contact support but was not offered anything other than a proverbial "oh well".

Hello! Thank you for leaving a review. While our review software defaults to 5 stars, our customers can easily change their rating, and do to reflect their thoughts on our plants. Just as you were able to change your rating to a one star review.

In regards to your grass, it's hard to give an exact answer to what is happening without a little more information. A common problem we see (both with our customers and our staff) is plants in garden beds under roofs without gutters. If the roof above your garden bed does not have gutters, the plants below will be destroyed. Even moisture loving plants cannot tolerate being poured on by rain.

Good drainage is crucial - even for plants that are moisture tolerant. When soil is dry, the pores between its particles are full of oxygen, which the roots need to live. When it rains or you water, the pores get full of water. This is fine as long as that doesn't stick around forever, but if drainage is bad or watering/rainfall is very frequent, the pores stay full of water and literally deprive the roots of oxygen. This can be exacerbated by humidity, as there is less evaporation from the soil, that will also slow the drainage and lead to root rot.

We guarantee all of our plants for 60-days. If your order was delivered within that window, we will refund your purchase or set up a replacement order to be sent out to you. We have never not stood by our guarantee. https://www.greatgardenplants.com/pages/our-guarantee
