Milkweed (Asclepias) features large flower clusters filled with nectar that pollinators adore. This native perennial plays an essential role in the pollinator ecosystem, being the sole host plant to the Monarch butterfly. It's also easy to grow, deer-resistant and drought-tolerant. Milkweed seed pods begin to appear in late summer and early fall, providing a food source for birds and other native wildlife.
