Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

I received my order over the weekend. Three of the plants are already dead and three look good. At 16.99 per plant the size and quality are ridiculous. I have ordered many plants through the mail and all have come in decent shape. I am very disappointed and will not order from your company again.
Hello! We’re sorry that you received plants that are not up to our standards. We try our best to provide excellent plants, but some factors, like shipping and handling, are outside our control. Just got and planted about a month ago. We live in south central KY and I think it is going to bloom before our first frost.
I love my Black-Eyed Susan but the rabbits keep eating the leaves. Unfortunately that is my problem. They have not bloomed yet
The plants looked great when they arrived and I planted them the next day. This was about three weeks ago and they are already starting to bloom. I am very happy with the quality of the plants.
These attracted the deer to my newly planted flower beds. I'm very sad as I worked so hard to get these beauties in the ground. I have net fence all around my beds now and spray with deer and rabbit repellent nightly. Some of them are starting to come back so, well see.
We're sorry that the deer enjoyed your plants before you could. Young plants are especially susceptible to deer damage, so we highly recommend protecting new plants in areas with high deer traffic. All orders are covered by our 60-day guarantee, so please send your order number and pictures of your plants to claims@greatgardenplants.com to start the claims process. We look forward to helping!
