Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

 How To Grow Soil: Adapts well to a wide range of soils, from mildly acidic to neutral.

Water: Water regularly until established, but be careful not to overwater. Increase the watering frequency in periods of heat.
Spacing: 4-6 ft
Fertilizing: Avoid high nitrogen fertilizers, which will produce excessive vegetation at the expense of flowering. Feed during the early growing season with a slow-release fertilizer.
Winterizing: Mulching the base of the plant will offer winter protection. If you live in a very cold area, the plant may suffer from winter dieback, killing the blossom buds. Wrap the plant in burlap to help protect the blossom buds.
Maintenance & pruning: Keep in mind that any severe pruning in winter may affect next season's flowering. Pruning should be done about two months after it flowers. Cut the season's recent shoots back to within three buds from the base. These buds will then bear the coming season's new shoots and flowers.

Great Quality Plants

The two wisteria I ordered arrived well packaged and in very healthy condition. I put them in the dirt and they started to thrive immediately. I will definitely order more plants from Great Garden Plants

Amethyst Falls Wisteris

Good news - my wisteria is happily thriving in a new pot (it’ll be an indoor plant for now). It’s already put out several new leaves, so I rate it a success. Not so good news - the packaging was a little sketchy, so it and the plant inside arrived looking rather battered. The cardboard had slots cut in it, I suppose to let the plant breathe, but that meant that it had little strength to keep the plant from being crushed. The pot wasn’t secured inside the packaging, either, so it had slid back and forth in the box, which had bruised some of the leaves. So I suggest you rethink that a bit. So I rate the plant a 5, and the packaging a 2.
