Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

The start of fall may signal the gardening season is coming to a close, but it’s not over yet! There is still plenty of time to enjoy colorful flowers and foliage or even sprinkle in some new perennials and shrubs before winter arrives.
It looks good. I have up potted it so it can get a little size before I put it in the garden.
This is a pretty plant, but it has very sharp thorns even though the description says no thorns. Not good for entry way containers.

I purchased a pair of Berry Box plants because I loved their slightly messy appearance as my life seems to concur with a bit of organized chaos, They were shipped as I had scheduled and the two plants arrived in great shape. The plants are much smaller than I had imagined (obviously they would not be mature at 1 qt sz, but still, a photo of actual size would be nice for the occasional/novice gardener). Further, only in the drop-down selection was there an option presented between gl and qt size (I missed that) but had I been more observant I would have chosen the larger size. Small quibbles though, and some of it due to my own inexperience ordering plants online. I replanted the Berry Box shrubs in two larger planters and they are thus far healthy and thriving. Even without blooms or berries, I love the way the plants look. I will order again from this company instead of settling for what Lowes has to offer. To close, thank you for carrying this new type of holly bush.
I was very pleased with my plants when they arrived. They were well packaged and looked great. I think they are taking to their planting spots well. I put one in a very large pot in my back yard and the other in my front yard in a small garden. I couldn't be happier with my order from Great Garden Plants.
