More Information

Description Strong and vigorous, the newly improved 'Dalmatian Purple' foxglove (or Digitalis) charmed its way to winning the Fleuroselect Gold Medal for its prolific blooms. Spikes of purple bell-shaped flowers bloom in early summer, quickly transforming your garden into a pollinator paradise. You'll be amazed at the number of flowers it produces, along with the incredibly sturdy stems that keep them upright.

Foxgloves are long-blooming perennials with specialized flowers designed perfectly for pollinators. The bell-shaped blooms have small spots on their lower lip, guiding pollinators straight to their pollen and nectar. It serves as a landing strip for bees, who are the perfect size to crawl into the flowers. But don't be surprised when you see hummingbirds and butterflies visiting the flowers as well! While it has always been a staple in cottage, pollinator, and cut flower gardens, it recently resurged in popularity among home gardeners (and for a good reason). This perennial is deer and rabbit-resistant, container-friendly, low-maintenance, and easy to grow, making it easy to love.

This foxglove is a true perennial (not short-lived biennials) that will self-seed in your garden if given a chance. Caution: they are highly toxic if ingested by humans or animals.

unfortunately all but 1 died.

the plants arrived in great condition, the soil was probably overly moist but i understand that was probably done on purpose for shipping reasons. i ordered 9, got them in the ground the same day but unfortunately here in florida the daily rain was too much for them and all but 1 died. the plant that was the biggest survived. i'll try again for next spring or after the rainy season n perhaps i'll be better prepared to cover them with plastic until they are bigger and stronger. im sure they would have turned out beautiful if given the chance. i'll try to buy again next year.

The plant seemed to be surviving but don’t know its condition after the effects of the tropical storm we are still experiencing. My garden is at my son’s house so I have not been able to check on it.

Love it

It arrived on 7/5 and it looked small but okay, and today it’s 7/28 and already flowering beautifully. Very happy.

Happy Foxgloves

Happy to report all Foxgloves have bloomed! We’ve had an unusual amount of heavy rain so they’ve had to endure a constant pounding but still seem to be doing well. Very satisfied customer!
