Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

I ordered 3 of these to intermix with another 3 Brandywine™ Witherod Viburnum in a newly landscaped area. They arrived very healthy and I got them in the ground in about a week. They are on drippers with landscape cloth down and mulched. They are happy and thriving. This is when I was planting them and running water lines. They are all under cages while they get established to protect from deer and hail.
Ordered and received 5 Spirea. They were really small so I treated them with kid gloves. They all started out looking happy but then one started to look wilted and soon after a second one started to look unhealthy. Those two died. Not sure what else I could have done to keep them alive. The other three look good so far. Fingers crossed.

I ordered 5 plants and they were in rough shape when they got here. I emailed customer service and they happily offered to either refund the money or replace them and I requested replacement plants. They only sent 1 and when I emailed them back they apologized for the mistake and made an order for the other 4, which wasn't a big deal, mistakes are made. It took a while for the other 4 to ship, but I did get the 1. It was also in rough shape so I requested a refund of all as well as a cancellation of the other 4. I was refunded for the 4 not shipped, but not for the single 1 that was delivered. I'm sure it was another mistake. Despite my best efforts it has also died. They don't seem to travel very well as I have gotten other plants from here and they are thriving and in great condition, but these poor plants didn't make it.
Edit: I have emailed the address listed in the reply and things are getting taken care of.
