More Information

Description 'Essence Purple' Lavender has a rounded habit that looks effortlessly tidy in the landscape. While it is shorter than other lavender plants (reaching 18-24 inches tall), it blooms just as prolifically with lavender-blue flowers. It kicks off the lavender season as one of the first English lavenders to bloom in early summer. Butterflies and bees flock to the flowers as they bloom into early fall, providing months of interest in the garden.

While it may be called English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), it's native to the Mediterranean, growing in dry and sandy soils. Given plenty of sun and well-draining soil, 'Essence Purple' lavender will reward you with multiple flushes of fragrant flowers. Try planting it in rock gardens, containers, or along walkways where the fragrance can be enjoyed all summer long.

2 half dead upon arrival

Planted all 3 even though they didn't look well. Now all 3 look dead in the garden.Their shipping container arrived in good condition and on time. I've had no problems with the quality of plants in previous orders but not so with these. Very disappointed.

Disappointed in Lavender plant

The lavender plant looked poorly when it arrived, but it died within 2 days of planting it. I have no idea why!

I order an essence lavender about a month ago. It arrived dead. It was replaced but that one also died. I would appreciate a refund. Thank you.

Arrived Dead

Dried out brown plant. Put in ground anyway, and we'll see if it revives.

Good choice

I purchased four and three of them are doing wonderful. They have been growing. Unfortunately The fourth one has not. Don’t know what has happened. In addition the fragrance is not as strong as I would have liked. The weather hasn’t been great for me to transplant them. But hopefully will soon. Not sure what we can do with the bad one.
