Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Creeping phlox (Phlox subulata), often called moss phlox, mountain phlox or moss pink, loves sun, tolerates drought, attracts butterflies, & even resists deer. This superstar ground cover is great for gardeners of any skill level; if you’re looking to add easy-care color & interest to your landscape, consider making creeping phlox your next garden addition.
They were healthy but very small and were immediately eaten by bunnies. The last part isn't the fault of anyone of course...bunnies will do what they do, but for the price, I was hoping for a bigger plant and not just one stalk. I hate to say it but I saw bigger ones for less money at Home Depot.
We're sorry that the rabbit enjoyed your plants before you could. Young plants are especially susceptible to rabbit damage, so we highly recommend protecting new plants in areas with high deer traffic. The size of our plants varies depending on the time of year and whether they were recently trimmed. The most important thing when purchasing plants, online or in garden centers, is a full and robust root system, which we prioritize. All orders are covered by our 60-day guarantee, so please send your order number and pictures of your plants to claims@greatgardenplants.com to start the claims process. We look forward to helping!
Received a well packaged, healthy specimen. Little guy is already blooming and has integrated well into my garden already.
I love all the plants I ordered from you. I followed your direction on how to plant and all of the plants I ordered are all growing wonderfully. The Fashionable Hybrid Early Crystal Phlox and Meant to Bee Royal Raspberry is already blooming. Yes I am very pleased with my order.
It’s beautiful and it’s coming along nicely. The photograph is from a couple days after planting it. It is in full bloom right now, I just don’t have a current photo.
