      Plant Spacing

      Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

It’s the total package, and an ideal way to bring vivacious color to even a shady spot in your garden. Enjoy months of bloom from late spring through fall, with bell-like flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Like other abelias, it’s quite a tough plant, growing well even in dry shade, and is unbothered by deer, rabbits, or other pests. Funshine abelia is colorful enough to be planted on its own in a flower garden, but it's especially effective planted in groups of 3 or 5 to form a low hedge or bring contrasting color to your home's landscape.       Followed all instructions for planting and there has been no growth at all. I don't think they're dead (yet) but I'm not impressed with my plants.

      Love Abelia

      The plant was tiny but very healthy upon arrival. I ordered 3 and they are all growing well even gave me some beautiful little purple blooms! I definitely love Abelia and gladly to have this plant at my garden!
