More Information

Description 'Gold Heart' Bleeding Heart (Dicentra spectabilis) puts a twist on the classic look with radiant golden foliage. Arching sprays appear in late spring, decorated with pink and white heart-shaped flowers. The chartreuse foliage provides the perfect backdrop for highlighting these unique flowers! If it wasn't already colorful enough, peach stems hold the foliage and flowers to form a lovely, bushy mound. This perennial is reliable and easy to grow, so it surely won't break your heart by dying midseason. Plus, deer and rabbits tend to leave it alone. Try planting it in a rock garden, as ground cover, or underplanting shrubs, and it won't disappoint. All it needs to succeed is a well-draining soil, part sun or shade, and a home in your garden! Love it.

This plants is a new favorite in my garden after its first year of growth. I planted this in late May of 2024, and it sorta disappeared as soon as the weather got really hot. I thought it was a failed planting, and was a little bit bummed. But then in March it started to emerge! I'm so pleased with the flowers and the foliage, it's a bright spot in my garden bed. I can't wait for it to fully mature.
