More Information

Description Bring bold color to your rain garden with Chelone 'Hot Lips' pink turtlehead! This native perennial thrives in moist, even wet soils, making it a vibrant addition to rain gardens or areas with poorly drained soils. We love seeing the rosy-pink flowers from 'Hot Lips' planted in masses, creating a river of blooms. Oh, did we mention it's also deer-resistant? This leaves many flowers to enjoy from summer through the beginning of fall or even add to a cut flower arrangement. 'Hot Lips' can also be planted in containers, provided the soil stays moist.

Chelone is a perennial native to the eastern United States. It is naturally found in woodland areas near rivers and bodies of fresh water. The tubular blooms, likened to turtle heads, hence its nickname, can attract pollinators, especially hummingbirds and butterflies.

Very healthy-looking plant. Hasn't blossomed yet. Planted some at my last house, and they were beautiful.

Some Did Not Survive!

I was disappointed that two turtleheads came half dead and did not make it. I've been too busy to write a complaint. but now that I came across this in my starred email; I would like a refund to my account.
The plants were smaller than I thought they eould be, too!

I love this plant and decided to get 3 different varieties. I live in Minnesota and the plants did suffer distress during shipping. I followed instructions and when planted they have not fully recovered as of yet. We will see.
