More Information

Description Interstella® Lily-of-the-Valley Shrub (Pieris japonica) brings out of this world beauty to your landscape or garden! It's a sophisticated, shade-tolerant flowering evergreen that is one of the very first, and longest, shrubs to bloom each spring. And what a show it is: elegant chains of delicate bell-shaped florets of a deep pink instead of the usual white. After several weeks of flowering, star-like bursts of bright red new growth festoon the branches. Interstella® Lily-of-the-Valley Shrub is also deer resistant, making it a problem-solver in the landscape. It requires acidic soil and benefits from a good layer of shredded bark mulch. Though a touch slow-growing, this beautiful shrub packs so much showiness into its compact size, it's more than worth the wait. Details How To Grow

Died after two weeks

Plant died when it went in the ground. Lasted a week before looking stressed and now just a dried twig.

Died... twice

I ordered one earlier this year and it continued to drop leaves. I was sent a replacement in fall so it could acclimate better to the south GA weather but it died as well. I kept it in the shade for days and it never seemed to perk back from the postal trip to me. I brought it in under grow lights and it still lost leaves and looks like a twig. Pretty sure this one is a gonner as well. Bummed out and not going to try to grow this plant in my zone. Only plant I've ever had problems with from great garden plants.
