Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Absolutely gorgeous! Was a little slow to to start flowering, but then exploded with the most beautiful green tinged white flowers almost overnight. By far my favorite garden addition of the year!
I was so excited to receive these plants in the mail. Once they delivered, I was a bit disappointed in the size of the plant, but the plant was at least green and had great potential. I planted in the ground in a very shady spot which only recieved about two to four hours of direct sun. I watered them appropriately ensuring the soil didnt get too dry and in less than two weeks, the plants started dying. I was so distraught that I pulled the plants back out of the ground, placed them back in their pots and placed them under my patio. I still havent had any luck with getting them to revive.

The plants arrived healthy with new growth. Although these are quart sized, the plants are a good size. Fingers crossed they like their new home!
Ok, was not originally happy with my order—the wee whites looked really beat down. Happily they rebounded super quickly and are thriving. Glad I am able to adjust my original perception. Deducted a star for the “cost to plant size” ratio. To my mind a bit expensive for the maturity level of the plants received.
