Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Healthy, carefully shipped plants with great root system. Love this company!!!!
Shipping was fast and the plants look great despite the September heat. Always a good experience with Great Garden Plants.
Your plants are the best! The packing was exceptionally protective of the plants, all of which arrived in perfect condition. Given that it's almost October, I did not expect to see any flowers on the phlox but all the healthy plants still had many of the tiny pink blooms and evidence of the masses of flowers this selection is known to produce. 'Jeana' is indeed as lovely a tall garden phlox as described by Mt. Cuba. I look forward to watching the abundant butterflies feed on the flowers when they reach their full height and flowering next season.
The Jeana phlox plant arrived healthy and happy! Gorgeous color and fragrance! Thank you!!
This is the first year growing these 'Jeana" tall garden phlox, but I am impressed with the flowers on these plants. They have been blooming for weeks now, and the butterflies really love them!
