More Information

Description La Vida Más Indian hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica) is a high-performance selection from Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs that will redefine your expectations for this popular hot climate evergreen. Instead of blooming briefly spring, it blooms continuously, extending its display of pink flowers to months instead of just weeks. It also has a super-useful low-growing habit that makes it easy to incorporate into your landscape or garden. In addition to these unique traits, its blue-green foliage has excellent disease resistance, so no worries about the unsightly spots that plague conventional selections. If you are a warm climate gardener looking for a fabulous flowering evergreen, you’ve found it in La Vida Más.   Details How To Grow

Sad slow grower

I bought 15 of these to make a low hedge and they grow so slowly that many are dead and the rest are still sticks with a few leaves after their second summer!

Slow to grow. No blooms no growth after 2 months.

Thank you for your feedback! It’s surprisingly normal for newly transplanted plants to appear like they aren’t growing. That’s because most of the growth occurs below ground in their first year as they allocate more energy to root development. Once your plant is established, it will start investing more in shoot and flower development. I recieved 4 La Vida Mas Indian Hawthorn via UPS. They were very healthy looking 1 quart sized containers. They are small, but they ARE what I wanted and they will grow. What is most important to me is that they arrived green and not wilted. They grow pretty quick so I am not concerned with the current size. They arrived fairly quick too! I do recommend ordering with this Company.

Unfortunately not very tough

Most Indian Hawthorn make it through TX summers but these did not do well. I think they may have been poorly rooted. Disappointing.

Dead on arrival plants

My hawthorns arrive minature few leaves already looking half alive half dead. I paid a Gardner to plant them anyway. A loss of money for both plants and labor.
