More Information

Description Dare to be different - plant Laced Up elderberry (Sambucus nigra). This selection from Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs is unlike anything you've seen before: it naturally grows as a narrow column of finely dissected purple foliage. That columnar habit makes it a real space-saver in the landscape, and it takes up only a few square feet of ground space yet packs in tons of beauty and interest. In early summer, pink flower clusters top the branches. This is definitely a plant that will make passers-by ask, "what is that?!" If you want berries to form on this elderberry, you need to plant a different variety to pollinate it - you can choose from Black Lace, Black Beauty, and Instant Karma. Plant them anywhere within 50' of another, though closer is preferable to ensure best pollination. Both plants will get berries. *Berries should only be used for ornamental purposes, not to be ingested. Details How To Grow

beautiful

really love these plants. unique and lovely. the plants themselves arrived in very good condition despite a delay in delivery by the post office. the box was left upside down on our porch so there was some spillage, etc. and we worried the plants would be in bad shape, but they were okay and we were able to regather most of the soil. USPS really isn't a great way to ship these. But the plants are thriving and we are very happy.

Such a beautiful plant- it went next to my established sambucus, so I can have berries

Disappointed

The plant arrived well packaged. Surprised to find it is only 4 inches tall and almost no root system. I hope it makes it but this experience has me rethinking plants online.

Hello! We apologize that you received plants that are not up to our standards. We pride ourselves on shipping young plants with well established root systems. Please send photos of the plants you've received to claims@greatgardenplants.com and we would love to make things right.
