Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Description The new and improved Pinky Winky Prime® panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata) boasts bigger blooms, richer color, and improved hardiness than the original Pinky Winky®. The flower color certainly doesn’t cool down come summer, with panicles transitioning from white to hot pink starting from the bottom until the flower is fully submerged in color. This panicle hydrangea is also exceptionally cold hardy, showcasing gorgeous hues and outstanding performance down to zone 3. We love planting this shrub in a sunny hedge where everyone can see the striking cone-shaped flowers.

Panicle hydrangeas are one of the easiest to grow, making them perfect for beginners. They bloom on new wood, which means they reliably flower each year (even after cold winters). All they need is a quick prune in early spring for a floriferous year! Flower color is unaffected by soil chemistry. If flowers turn brown and dry instead of aging to pink or red, the plant needs more water, or nighttime temperatures are too high for the transition. Details How To Grow

Nice plants

Doing great so far. Growing. Pinky winky has doubled in size.

Plants came saturated in water.

I bought 17 plants. I opened them the day they came and found 5 of them so saturated with water that yhe leaves were decaying. Two of the other ones were so dried out that they felt like straw....these were all ice plants BTW. I planted them in hopes that maybe there would be some life in them but in over a week, I haven't seen any new growth in these 7. A complete waste of money

It's Okay For Now

I did receive a scraggly looking Pinky Winky but after putting it in the ground and a few days rain, it is looking much better. I didn't expect it to be putting on new leaves but it is. I live in the tropics.
