More Information

Description Between the flowers and foliage, 'Safari Adventure' pineapple lily (Eucomis) really does look like a pineapple plant! Olive-green foliage emerges in early summer, forming a habit similar to a bromeliad. Tall scapes of bicolor flowers bloom above the foliage on dark purple stems, resembling a pineapple fruit. Creamy white flowers age to a deep rosy purple, creating a gradient of hues along the inflorescence. It makes a statement in the garden and cut flower arrangements.

Fun fact: this plant isn't related to pineapple at all! This tropical-looking perennial is actually in the asparagus family. It's fairly easy to grow, even in zone 6, but requires extra winter protection. If it doesn't emerge the following spring, don't worry. It's one of the last plants to break from dormancy and may not start growing until summer!

Poor packaging

When packing these plants, the leaves should be laying straight in the shipping material. These arrived bent and broken. Now that are in the ground, they have literally one leaf sticking up. The others will need to be cut off. It will be a while before they look decent.

Hello! We’re sorry that you received plants that are not up to our standards. We try our best to provide excellent plants, but some factors, like shipping and handling, are outside our control. its very slow to grow its stalk. I wont purchase this plant again

Thank you for your feedback! It’s surprisingly normal for newly transplanted plants to appear like they aren’t growing. That’s because most of the growth occurs below ground in their first year as they allocate more energy to root development. Once your plant is established, it will start investing more in shoot and flower development. Always perfect

I love ordering from Great Garden Plants. Plants are always healthy and packaged beautifully. I've ordered around 100 plants over the last 2 years and I only had one issue and it was replaced with 4 new plants. The staff is always courteous and helpful. The only place I'll order from.
