Plant Spacing

Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:

It is perfect on its own or in combination with other plants in the Summerific® series; it will transform and provide an incredible impact in any sunny spot.

Summerific hibiscus from Proven Winners are herbaceous perennials, so unlike their close cousin rose of Sharon, they die back to the ground in fall and begin each year fresh in spring. They are one of the latest perennials to emerge in spring, but watching them transform from tiny buds to big, healthy plants in a matter of weeks is nothing short of delightful.  How To Grow Soil: Plant in any sunny spot. Can tolerate wet soil once established; if grown in dry conditions, growth and blooming may be compromised.

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring, once the ground has thawed, with a granular rose fertilizer.

Maintenance: Little needed. Perennial hibiscus is one of the very last plants to emerge each spring. Be patient! Once they begin to show buds, they will start to grow quickly.

Two dead in zone 7b - planted in fall

I have bought 2 of these. They did arrive in acceptable condition. I planted them in fall - both are in areas where they will get full sun in spring/summer. However, in fall they are in shade until about 10-11am, then full sun until it goes down. I am in 7b and we havent had any devastating frosts - but it is getting down to about 30-35 at night. It warms up to about 70-75 in the day.

I planted them carefully - amended my clay soil and mulched them.

The plants came healthy - so I think maybe 7b is just too cold to be planting these in fall?

No luck

I planted following instructions, one was doing all right, the other didn’t look good , gave it some time but , it crashed. GGP sent me a replacement, tried again , didn’t grab, and , the other one called it a day also. I have another hibiscus ( not a cranberry crush) between these two that is doing great , but , these two just wouldn’t come around. 🤷‍♂️
It’s fine , GGP sent me a replacement, I was appreciative of that , good customer service, will buy from them again, good luck with everything else I have purchased, these two just didn’t work out ! No big deal, part of gardening, hit and miss , it’s all good !!👍
