More Information

Description Wheels of Wonder® 'Violet Wonder' ice plant (Delosperma) delivers bright and festive colors with incredibly long-blooming flowers. The flowers are reminiscent of violet wheels, with thin petals resembling spokes around yellow centers. Tough and drought-tolerant, ice plants make a fabulous ground cover for hot, dry sites and tricky areas.

We're delighted to offer the new series Wheels of Wonder® ice plants (or Delosperma) for two main reasons: their larger flowers and incredibly long bloom time! Enjoy colorful bi-color flowers for up to 5 months without any maintenance to keep them blooming. They open their flowers during the day but close them at night, so early risers can watch them bloom each morning. Try planting them in masses for a thick ground cover, in containers for a sunny patio, or as a pop of color in rock gardens. Mix and match the six colors in the series or opt for a monochromatic ground cover. Either way, there will be plenty of flowers to shine all summer long.

Ice plants seem to be good option for dry rocky slope

I purchased 26 ice plants in a few varieties and planted them in August and September. I also planted some Sweet Woodruff and they didn't do as well because of the heat.

I lost some of the ice plants, probably due to deer, but for the most part they seem to be growing well. There is a lot of erosion on the slope north of our pool and I am hopeful that these will cover the area next Spring and help solve that problem.

One of my better purchases from Great Garden Plants up to this point.

SHIPPING

My 2-ice plant arrived extremely dry. But these are succulents, and they plumped are up after a good drink. I hope this next shipment is in better condition as they are not succulents.

Company deliberately sends you dead plants

This company is so weird. They put a bunch of rotting, dead plants in a box and mailed it to me.
