Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Lots of the most beloved fragrant plants bloom in spring and early summer; they’re the perfect way to welcome back the growing season and the return of spending time outdoors. We’re sharing some of our all-time favorite fragrant plants in spring here. Plant them and create your own fragrant memories this season!
I received these healthy well packed shrubs the first of June and they reached 3 1/2 feet in no time. They produced beautiful blossoms the next month! I didn’t expect that and several neighbors wanted to know what kind of plant they were and where I bought them. I was more than happy to share my satisfaction with Great Gardens!
I have flowers on the bush. It is kind of small having just planted last year. Looks healthy and look forward to seeing it blend in with the other plants and neighboring bushes.
I have three of these shrubs entering their third growing season. They come back strong each spring and bloom early and prolifically. The flowers are neat and unusual, adding an interesting element to the garden. The only downside is that there is no scent on the flowers, so it's definitely a disappointment given the name and description of a supposedly neat-smelling plant.
We're sorry you haven't experienced the fragrance of your shrub! The scent can depend on the age of the flower, time of day, and if the plant has been pollinated. Our team of horticulture experts would love to take a closer look. Please contact claims@greatgardenplants.com with your order number and photos of the plants. We look forward to helping!
O
My plants came in great condition. They were a good size and ready to plant. I did plant them within a couple of days and they have settled in nicely. I would order a lot more from them but at my age it hurts my back to plant them. This is a good company to buy from.
