Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Ground covers effortlessly fill those tough-to-grow sites that are usually ignored, like tight spaces, gaps between stepping stones, slopes, or shady understories. Fight plants with plants and transform your garden into a lush landscape in the process with these ground covers.
Fabulous so far. Cut these up with a gardening knife to create a border. Went around property and planted small patches in between large rock/small boulders to fill void and decrease weed walking time. Can't wait for them to spread.
The first large one I ordered is doing outstanding. The last two I ordered-one is doing well, the other not so much. Also, on the two smaller ones I was not thrilled with the variety of sedum in the mats. The first one was much nicer.
We have found that it takes a bit of time for the sedum mats to adjust. When we grow them in the greenhouse, the filtered light makes less variety within the mats. Given some time to adjust in the sunlight, this issue resolves.
I was disappointed that it did not have all plants that were in photo. The ones I actually really wanted were not in my 10" sod
The good news is that this is temporary! Due to the lack of natural sunlight in the greenhouse, one variety often appears to dominate. However, once planted and established outside in the natural light, the other varieties become more apparent!
This was exactly what I was looking for. Delivered quickly and packed with care
I've never installed these before and still need to finalize the spots I want them in, but they look and are performing amazingly well in their temporary places. I can't wait to see how they will improve my scruffy areas. Thank you.
