More Information

Description Variegated bishop's weed (Aegopodium podagraria) is the perfect addition to your garden if you want a fast-growing ground cover that transforms your space. The variegated foliage is bound to catch your attention by adding light green and white colors to sunny or shady areas. In the summer, white flowers resemble Queen Anne's lace, reaching heights up to 14" tall. Did we mention how low maintenance it is? It's highly adaptable and succeeds in nearly all soil, even through periods of drought.  Fill those tough-to-grow spaces, whether it's in dense shade, between pavement, or on a slope.  Don't worry about weeding so much, as the dense foliage serves as a weed-suppressing carpet in your garden! All you have to do is plant and enjoy. Since it grows so vigorously, variegated bishop's weed is considered an invasive plant. The best way to keep it under control is by growing it between pavement or in containers. Flower stems can also be cut before the seeds set to reduce the spread. Details How To Grow

looks good in a pot

After some research, I decided to plant the bishops weed in a large plant pot in a shady bare area in my garden. I was concerned if the plant would be too invasive to plant in the ground as I have a small shady garden with several low growing plants and shrubs. The plant is doing great and I look forward to see how it will fill in the pot come springtime. I plan to plant annuals in the ground around the pot come springtime (impatiens?) which I think will complement the bishops weed. It does brighten up a shady spot!
