Description
Plant spacing is based on the ultimate width of the plants. This figure is normally given as a range; for example, 3-5’. If you live in a cold climate and/or want plants to fill in more quickly, plan to space at the shorter end of the range. If you live in a warm climate, are on a limited budget, or are willing to wait longer for plants to touch, use the higher end of the range. Using the larger number is recommended when calculating distance from a building or structure. There’s really no such thing as "maximum spacing": if you don’t want your plants to touch, you can space them as far apart as you’d like. All plant spacing is calculated on center, or in other words, the centers of the plants are spaced one half of their eventual width apart:
Unless you are planting in a straight line, as you might for hedges or edging, space your plants in a staggered or zig-zag pattern for a more interesting and naturalistic look:

Weigela is a deciduous shrub that has quickly become one of the most popular landscape plants on the market today. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular: weigela is easy to grow, deer-resistant, versatile, and has vibrant blooms that attract pollinators like a magnet. Here, we’ll show you how to grow and care for weigela shrubs and answer your frequently asked questions.
Cardinal Plants in the ground, flowers everywhere with hummingbirds enjoying a feast!!! Thank you so much for nice plants. Even my neighbor remarked at how beautiful they are.
They would have been beautiful had they lived. I have no way to take pictures of dead plants to send you
Having lost some of my many weigela plants from a large garden, I needed to replace some empty spots to round out the look of my garden arrangement and went in search of a vendor that might meet my needs. I had never ordered from Great Garden Plants before, but I discovered the plants I required and at a very reasonable price. The plants arrived lovingly packed and in beautiful condition. These were healthy, vibrant weigela that suffered no strain in the shipment, as I have experienced with other nationally-known vendors. I couldn't have been more pleased, and since planting and good care, the plants I received in May are growing and performing well. I've even ordered a few more weigela and some perennial flowers, since Great Garden Plants offers frequent deals and promotions to help reduce the cost to customers. Wonderful!
Everything I ordered looked so healthy. Thanks
The weigelas were packaged extremely well, and still slightly moist upon opening. They are performing very nicely in their new home. Love the foliage colors.
